-Good afternoon Professor Johan Gaunther. This is a short interview from a f platform of Buraimi.net. First of all, could you please tell us about the university in general?
- This is a new university and it is a unique university because it is an Omani European university and this is new for the gulf area. The students study in Oman get 2 certificate at the end, one is Omani certificate and the other is European certificate. So, this is a new thing. That means it is all our programs we have to full feel European standards and Omani standards which is not easy but it is possible.
- Could you please tell us about the problems which have faced the students and their complains?
- last Wednesday the week before, when I came in the morning, most of the students are waiting me in the lobby and then I tried to speak with them which is not possible, because you can not over discus with 400 people at a time. I recommended to them to form a small group of people as a delegation and I will speak to them and I will specify the issues. It will be more effective and very realistic. After that, they will put this in a petition and this petition was presented to our students and I have presented this petition to the ministry ,because it is from the students and my responsibility is to give this to the ministry and the owner.
- Recently, we have announced that our platform has been blocked from the university. Is that true? And what are the purposes of doing this action?
- It is not true. What is happened, there are more students and want more drives for the net access. They are working now to expand the drives, so we have 3 times more volume than before. I think the company has been started this Tuesday. We never ever something blocked. I support the public discussions. This is important for young people but in limitation.
- Finally, what is your advice for the students?
- * they must ask things they think it should be really changed.
* they should separate those how just make noise and those who has Victorian to change this for manipulate the problems.
* Students have to be positive critically.
* Do not create in a public platforms your family problems and we are family.
* We have those problems inside, we discuss inside, we fight inside, we have to solve it inside.
* Do not destroy your University image.
* Critic is OK but in limitation
